White hake
Slender and softer-bodied fish, with large eyes and small barbels. Has only two dorsal fins, the second much longer than the first, and only one anal fin. The ventral fins are, long, narrow. The body is rounded in front of the vent, flattened sidewise behind the vent. The mouth is so large that it gapes back to below the eyes, the upper jaw projects beyond the lower. Body color variable, dorsally various dark shades, paler laterally, sometimes bronze, belly pale dirty to yellow white; pelvic fin pale. A dusky blotch present on the opercle.
