Roundnose grenadier
Marine bony fish with short and conical body. Abdominal region short. Snout broad, rounded; head broad, rather soft, deep; interorbital space broad, more than 33% of head length; chin barbel minute; teeth small, conical, in long narrow band in premaxillary, about 3 rows wide, narrowing to 1 row posteriorly. It has 2 dorsal fins, the first of small size; the second of great size that reaches the caudal fin and links with the anal fin, also of great size. Scales relatively adherent, completely and uniformly covering almost all of head and body. Colour: brown to greyish; eye orbits, mouth, gill cavity, and fins blackish to brownish grey. It can measure up to 100 cm in length.
