Wreckfish
Order
Acropomatiformes
Family
Plyprionidae
This fish, with bluish-grey colouration on the upper part and lighter on the lower part with a silvery sheen, exhibits fins with a blackish-brown tone that adds contrast to its appearance. During its juvenile stage, it is characterized by the presence of black spots on both the head and body. Its body, tall and compressed, gives it an imposing presence in its aquatic environment. The mouth, considerably large, is in proportion to its head, which in turn features a rough bony ridge along the upper part of the gill cover.
