Euryhaline fish (marine and freshwater) fish with regularly ossified skeleton. Sturdy body, blunt head and fairly thick caudal penduncle. The back is brown with red and black spots. It measures between 30 and 40 cm. It is plentiful in rivers and mountain lakes.
