Medium-sized cartilaginous fish. Short face. A row of large and small stingers from behind the eyes to the first dorsal fin. Tail with a row of large stingers on each side of the central row. Dorsal face completely covered with stings of various sizes. Grayish or brown on the dorsal side, with numerous irregular dark spots. Tail with dark and clear transverse bands. White ventral face. Up to 1 m in length.
