Marine fish with regularly ossified skeleton. Elongated body and flattened at the sides. With head somewhat rounded and snout long. Small eyes at the top. Horizontal mouth with thick lips. Extensible jaws. Long and undivided dorsal fin. Silver gray color with golden spots. It weighs up to 2 kg.
