Decapod crustacean with a rounded and robust body. It has a hard and spiny shell, ranging in colour from reddish tones to dark browns. Its claws are large and sturdy, with spines along the edges. It has a carapace span that can reach around 20 to 25 centimetres in diameter in adults, although dimensions may vary depending on the region and environmental conditions.
