Slender rockfish
Marine fish with regularly ossified skeleton. Long body. Large head, with a somewhat concave profile, fringe on the nape of the neck, and great crests and thorns. Wide mouth that reaches behind the eyes. No submandibular dermal appendages. With large and branched dermal appendages above the mouth and in the lower part of the preopercle, and smaller in the lateral line. No scales under the head. A dorsal fin. Pectoral fins, rounded, do not reach the origin of the anal fin. Tail fin with rounded edge. Rosacea and orange coloration, with dark spots. There is usually a black spot on the end of the hard spokes of the dorsal fin. Up to 55 cm in length.
