Marine fish with regularly ossified skeleton. Oval body with high dorsum. Long head and short pointed snout. 2 very close dorsal fins. Anal fin with finlets. Caudal fin with lunate shape. Bluish black on dorsum and whitish ventral face. Dark longitudinal stripes on the flanks and belly.
