Salema

It is characterized by a relatively elongated and slender body, with a generally oval shape. It has a small head in proportion to the body and a moderately sized terminal mouth. The eyes are medium-sized and located on the top of the head. A distinctive feature is the presence of a black spot at the base of the pectoral fin. The dorsal and anal fins are long and supported by robust spines. The pectoral fins are moderately long and triangular. The body is adorned with ten golden longitudinal stripes that extend from the head to the tail, adding an attractive contrast to its generally silver coloration. The tail is bifurcated and pointed.
