The dorsal and anal fins are long and supported by robust spines. The pectoral fins are moderately long and triangular. The body is adorned with ten golden longitudinal stripes that extend from the head to the tail, adding an attractive contrast to its generally silver coloration. The tail is bifurcated and pointed.
