Family Centrolophidae

Marine fish with regularly ossified skeleton. Elongated and slightly compressed body. Small head with rounded nose. Big mouth, with a row of teeth. A dorsal fin, which starts at the same height as the pectoral fins. Very small scales, which fall easily. Blackish violet color, fins are darker. It can measure up to 1.5 m in length.
