Pullet carpet shell

Marine bivalve mollusc. More oval than Striped venus (Chamelea gallina) and more convex. The outer shell is thin, with concentric lines crossed by radial lines. Gray cream color externally, with darker colored bands. Siphons adhered all along, this characteristic distinguishes this species from Grooved carpetshell (Ruditapes decussatus). It can measure up to 8 cm.
