Marine fish with regularly ossified skeleton. Oval body. Massive head and high, with very rounded profile. Eyes of medium size, very high. Not very cleft mouth with 2 rows of slightly pointed teeth. Light pink to vinous pink, with 4-5 red brick cross bands. It can measure up to 1 m.
