Marine decapod crustacean. Body and abdomen are very similar to those of lobster (Palinurus Elephas). The difference between them are the huge claws of the first locomotor legs. Very resistant carapace, almost cylindrical. The color is dark, greenish or blackish blue. It is the largest crustaceans from the European coast. It can measure up to 60 cm.
