Family Scyllaridae

Marine decapod crustacean. Crushed carapace, quadrangular form, hard and rough with numerous denticles. Antennae crushed, shaped like a trowel, with the anterior border divided into lobes. Five pairs of legs without pincers, except those of the fifth pair of females. Abdominal segments decorated with rugosities that form a characteristic drawing, the Cross of Santiago. Dark brown color on the back and yellowish on the abdominal region. It can measure up to 15 cm.
