Flat fish of oval body. Small head and mouth. The skin is smooth marble. The upper surface is reddish brown, speckled pink and orange, and yellow and green spots, and a prominent orange patch is typically found behind the pectoral fin, around which the lateral line also curves. The bottom of the fish is white. Lateral line almost straight, slightly curved above the pectoral fin. It reaches a length of 65 cm.
