Marine fish with cartilaginous skeleton. Cylindrical, elongated and fusiform body, finished in a short and thick nose, with more or less conical shape. Quite soft skin because the dermic denticles that cover it are wide, blunt and spaced unlike other similar species, such as Centrophorus squamosus. Also differs from Centrophorus squamosus in color, dark gray or even grayish brown dorsally with lighter belly, the membranes of the fins are darker.
