European common squid

Cephalopod marine mollusc with a long, narrow mantle ending in a beak, very long in adults, especially in males. Head wider than the mantle. Short tentacles, folded back as soon as they reach the fins. Narrow tentacular mace. Inner dorsal shell not calcified, very narrow and transparent. Colouring whitish with pinkish dotted spots. Up to 20 cn mantle length.
