Edible sea urchin
An echinoderm with a rounded and spiny body. Its outer shell is covered in long, movable spines that provide protection against predators and aid in locomotion. It has a mouth located on the underside of the body, surrounded by five jaws that form a chewing structure called the 'Aristotle's lantern'. Edible sea urchins come in variable colours, ranging from brown to dark purple, depending on their environment and age. On their underside, they have a series of small tubular feet called 'ambulacral feet', which they use for movement and gripping onto surfaces.
