Marine fish with regularly ossified skeleton. Long and oval body. Rounded head, with small, arched mouth. Dorsal fin with structural rays. The color of the back is blue-gray or olivaceous with rounded spots. It can measure up to 70 cm and weigh up to 3 kg.
