Marine fish with regularly ossified skeleton. Deep body, laterally compressed. Big and strong head. Long nose, with a slit mouth with 4-6 large, curved teeth canine-shaped in the front, and other smaller ones located behind. Silver back with bluish tones. It weighs up to 12 kg.
