Marine decapod crustacean. Long and crested rostrum, toothed at the top. Segmented body and perfect symmetry. Main antennas are very long. Under carapace are 13 pairs of appendages: the first two have sensory function (antennulas and antennas) and the following 3 food function (jaws, maxils and maxilla), 3 buccal appendages denominated maxilipeds, 2 pairs for defense and predation, and 3 pairs for locomotion. Practically transparent body, with reddish brown oblique longitudinal grooves in the carapace, and legs with dots and reddish rings. Maximum length 11 cm.
