Common octopus

Order Octopoda
Family Octopodidae

It has a wingspan that can reach up to one meter, while its mantle can measure up to 25 centimeters. Its overall coloration is predominantly brown, although it has the remarkable ability to modify both the color and texture of its skin. With a sizable oval-shaped head, this octopus displays eight appendages or arms, each equipped with two rows of suckers. The frontal arms are shorter than the lateral ones, and it's worth noting its unique regenerative ability, where, in exceptional cases, it can regenerate two or three additional arms, reaching even the known maximum of 96 arms. The beak-shaped mouth is located beneath the arms, and the highly developed eyes are in proximity to these arms. At the rear of the body, the siphon stands out with a distinctive "W" shape.
