It eatures an elongated and cylindrical body, typical of cephalopods. Its head is well developed housing a pair of large complex eyes, as well as a horny beak in the mouth, used for tearing its food. It has eight arms equipped with suckers and two longer retractable tentacles used for capturing prey and exploring its environment. The skin covering its body is smooth and muscular, known as a mantle, and can change colour and texture to camouflage in its surroundings and communicate with other individuals of its species.
