Family Carcharhinidae

Marine fish with cartilaginous skeleton and slender body. Elongate and sharp snout. Sharp and slightly oblique teeth, with serrated edges. Oval eyes with nictitating membrane. Smooth skin. Deep indigo color on dorsum, lighter flanks and white ventral face. After death, these colors turn grey.
