Marine bivalve mollusc. Solid shell, trapezoidal oval, with symmetrical valves and very thin and close concentric lines. Hinge with three teeth. Deep pallial sinus, without reaching the center of the valve. Edge of valves is smooth. Whitish or cream color, with different designs of bands or brown zig-zag, more or less dark. Whitish interior. Up to 5 cm in length.
