Marine fish of compressed body. Dorsal fin that gives it a diamond shape. Caudal fin slightly crescent-shaped and lateral line practically straight. Mouth very large and oblique, with two rows of sharp teeth and shaped arrow. Dark brown to gray-brown to olive-brown eye face, with dark-edged scales. Blind side of light gray or white. Maximum size up to 86 cm and 7.7 kg.
