Argentine stiletto shrimp
Marine crustacean with dorsally smooth shell. Horizontal face that is half the length of the animal, measured from the orbit to the posterior extremity of the telson. Rostrum with crest on the base and armed with nine or ten teeth. The pleon is smooth to the fourth segment which is dorsally angled. The ocular area is oval and reaches approximately to the end of the sawed crest. The first antennas carry a prosthesis that does not reach the end of the ocular area and a little style that is short. The peduncle reaches about half the length of the antennae, supporting two flagella that are twice as long as the face. Length: 70 mm males and 76 mm females.
