Marine fish with regularly ossified skeleton. Body elongated and fusiform, covered with scales. 2 dorsal fins, 1 anal fin and 1 caudal fin truncated. Light grey colored in the head and back, white chalk in the ventral area, iridescence with golden highlights throughout the body. It can measure up to 95 cm.
