Willem van der Pijl, licenciado en Antropología Cultural por la Universidad de Utrecht y titulado con honores en Desarrollo Internacional por la Universidad de Ámsterdam, es fundador y Senior Shrimp Industry Analyst de Shrimp Insights.
He describes himself as “passionate about the global shrimp industry”. In 2011 he started working as an Aquaculture Business Developer at LEI Wageningen UR. In 2014 he joined Solidaridad Network, where he worked as Aquaculture Program Developer. In parallel, he founded the Seafood Trade Intelligence Portal and the magazine Shrimp Tails. Following the Kontali’s acquisition of STIP in 2020, he founded the data analysis and consulting services company Shrimp Insights This year he directed the first edition of the Global Shrimp Forum, a three-day event that is the meeting point for the farmed shrimp industry.
