Jean-Louis Meuric

Jean-Louis Meuric has been working for Davigel SAS in France for 34 years from 1980 till 2014. During his career, he had always been in charge of the purchase in the company, beginning as a buyer till he became the Purchasing Manager 10 years later. As such, he developed specifically the Davigel business in Fish and Seafood which represented globally when he left, approximatively one third of the total turn-over of the company, by increasing its import activities from a large number of different countries worldwide. For the last 4 years before he left, he developed the Fish and Seafood Responsible Sourcing policy in Davigel. He retired on 2014, April the 1st and afterwards for 7 years, has been in charge, as a consultant for Davigel, of implementing this policy by participating in different Fishery and Aquaculture Improvement Projects. He joined the SFP Board in 2016 and had been Chairman of the Board for 6 years since 2018 till the end of 2023; he is now Vice-Chair of the Board. Apart from that, he is involved in different philanthropic associations near DIEPPE in France where he lives. He studied business and economics and especially agro-economics at Hautes Etudes Commerciales Business School in Jouy-en-Josas near Paris, France. He had also been treasurer of the Syndicat National du Commerce Extérieur des produits surgelés, SNCE (French association of frozen products importers) for almost 10 years.
