Daniela Costa

General secretary of CCRUP

In the last 5 years Daniela Costa has dedicated her work to the fisheries in the Outermost Regions.
Moved to the Azores, she became Biologist in the Fisheries Federation of the Azores, where besides other projects, had the mission to create the Outermost Regions Advisory Council (CCRUP), with the help of the Comite Nacional de Peches et Elevages Marins (France) and the Fisheries Federation of Canary islands, which succeed to be officially established in the end of 2019, counting in that moment with 45 members of Portugal, Spain, France, Saint Martin, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Azores, Madeira, Canary islands, Mayotte and La Reunion. Today CCRUP has 64 member organizations.

In 2020, Daniela Costa was selected to start the secretariat of the Outermost Regions Advisory Council (CCRUP) in Praia da Vitória (Azores), as General Secretary, and for the last 3 years has represented CCRUP in several international, national and local meetings, in the defense of the 9 european outermost regions, namely their basins and communities and exchanging opinions of the opportunities and problems of these territories.
