Marine fish with regularly ossified skeleton. Oval body, high and compressed. Head profile very rounded. Oblique mouth with small teeth arranged in brush. Long and low dorsal and anal fins. Blackish gray color, with metallic luster; Yellow pectoral fins. Up to 70 cm long. It weighs up to 6 kg.
