Conxemar focused its second day on analysing consumption and sustainability with six sessions and new gastronomic demonstrations.
- Today, the fair hosted technical meetings, market studies and show cooking events focused on consumer trends and sustainable resource management

- Korea starred in the culinary demonstration of the day with its proposal ‘Taste Korea: Gimbap live’ on the Hall 4 Stage
The 26th Conxemar International Frozen Seafood Trade Fair entered its second day today with an extensive programme of technical activities, presentations and gastronomic demonstrations that have once again placed Vigo at the global epicentre of the fishing and aquaculture sector.
The day began with a session organised by Conxemar and Worldpanel by Kantar/Numerator, entitled ‘Opportunities in frozen seafood products: discover what motivates your consumer to promote growth in the category’. The meeting, held in the venue’s café-restaurant, addressed new consumer trends and the factors that determine purchasing decisions in the frozen food market.
Later that morning, the Conxemar Technical Committee met in the Rosalía de Castro Room to discuss operational and strategic issues in the sector.
The programme continued in Hall 4 with the demonstration ‘The pleasure of tasting without compromise’, organised by Laduc, which showcased healthy and sustainable alternatives in modern cuisine.
This afternoon, the culinary space also hosted the ‘Taste Korea: Gimbap live’ show cooking event, in which South Korean chefs presented live demonstrations of different ways to prepare this iconic Asian dish, with tastings for the public.
At the same time, IFEVI’s Platea 1 was the venue for the conference ‘Giant squid: regional management and challenges’, promoted by the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership, which gave way in the afternoon to the presentation of the Project for the improvement of artisanal southern hake fishing.
At the same time, Platea 2 hosted the EUMOFA session on ‘Trends in the consumption of fish and aquaculture products in the EU market – present and future’, followed by the FAO – FIN Network analysis on ‘Market prospects and flows for fish and aquaculture products in different regions of the world’.
This comprehensive agenda confirms the technical, informative and international nature of a fair that continues to break records for attendance and participation. Not surprisingly, once again this year, the entire space available at the exhibition centre was filled, with a total of 812 exhibitors, 42 more than in the previous edition, from 46 countries.
In addition to the meetings and presentations, throughout the week the usual trade missions and B2B meetings between companies and international buyers are taking place, as part of the Guest Buyers Programme, in collaboration with ICEX, the Chamber of Commerce of Pontevedra, Vigo and Vilagarcía de Arousa, the Vigo Free Trade Zone and IGAPE.
