Conxemar FAO MAPA International Congress:
AQUATIC FOOD = FOOD SECURITY

The Contribution of Fishing and Aquaculture to Global Nutrition, Food Security, and Healthy and Sustainable Livelihoods.

The 12th edition of the Conxemar-FAO International Congress brought together leading figures from the seafood industry on September 30, 2024, to discuss the current challenges and opportunities facing the seafood processing and trading sector, as well as its commitment to sustainability.

The central theme for 2024 was the SOFIA 2024 Report – Sustainable Development Goals: Responsibility for the Future.

The roundtable discussions, featuring international experts, addressed a wide range of topics, including the global context of fisheries and aquaculture, as well as the sustainable management of fishery resources.

This event, firmly established as one of the key gatherings in the sector, was co-organized by Conxemar (the Spanish Association of Wholesalers, Importers, Exporters and Processors of Fishery and Aquaculture Products) and the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations).
